Three Rivers Electric Cooperative Youth Tour Essay Contest
Three Rivers Electric Cooperative proudly participates in the Rural Electric Youth Tour, an annual essay contest open to high school juniors. Six winning delegates will receive a week-long, all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., where they’ll explore the U.S. Capitol, visit national monuments, and gain a deeper understanding of government.

To enter, students must submit an essay of 250 to 500 words responding to the following prompt: "It's 2026, from your perspective as a junior in high school, what do you believe America's greatest challenge(s) will be in the next 10 years, and what would your solutions be?"

Each essay is evaluated by a panel of three judges from neighboring electric cooperatives. The top 12 scoring students will advance to final judging, where they will take a quiz on cooperative knowledge and present their essay before a panel of judges. Based on the final scores, six students will be selected to attend the 2026 Youth Tour. The remaining six finalists will each receive a $200 gift card.
