Your Cooperative
Your electric cooperative is committed to providing the best possible service at the lowest possible cost.
We hope you take pride in your Cooperative-a grass roots system of service.
Keeping the cost of electricity affordable helps keep local businesses competitive, while preserving our standard of living.
Three Rivers Electric Cooperative serves parts of Osage, Cole, Maries, Miller, Gasconade, Moniteau and Franklin counties. The Cooperative was formed in 1939 and has more than 20,000 residential, business, commercial, farm and industrial accounts. To keep rates low, the cooperatives in Missouri own and operate their own power supply organizations.
As a member, you have the right to vote for directors at the Cooperative's annual meeting. Three of the nine directors are elected annually to serve a three-year term. Each director represents a specific geographical area of the Cooperative service area.
The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Cooperative and the directors must be members of the Cooperative. Acting as a group, they establish the policies by which the Cooperative is operated and review all activities of the Cooperative.

Your Money
This is your cooperative. After all expenses for furnishing your electricity have been paid, any money left over is set aside for you, the member-owner of the Cooperative. This money is known as your patronage capital or capital credits.
Patronage capital is divided among all members, based on the amount and cost of your electricity for the year.
It is also the Cooperative's equity, or working capital. The patronage capital allows the Cooperative to secure loans and maintain facilities and services. When the financial status of the Cooperative allows, the Board of Directors will authorize payment of a portion of the patronage capital. Your capital credits are reserved for you even if you discontinue your membership and move out of the area. Please keep a current address on file to help us locate you in the future.
Your Newsletter
Three Rivers Electric Cooperative publishes The Country Circuit, a monthly newsletter that is mailed to each Cooperative member. This newsletter keeps members informed of different issues facing the Cooperative, has important announcements and messages from the Cooperative, contains interesting articles on Cooperative members, and even includes new recipes from Cooperative members for you to try.
Cooperative members also receive a subscription to the Rural Missouri, a monthly magazine published by the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives (AMEC), our statewide association.
